When I can take a break from my work, I escape this world and participate to amazing projects such as the Jordan Rudess KeyFest or Rockin'1000. I don't know how to live without music, so I spend my spare time to these Post and tutorials.
If you thought that everything was invented in the field of keyboards or MIDI controllers, you were wrong. Proof of this is the Nu-Motion REVO1 that you may have seen played by some of the world-famous artists like Jordan Rudess.
We talked in a previous post about the advantages that a curved piano can have. The main advantage that it offers is with no doubt to play with two hands and not only with one, as it is the case with conventional Keytars.
On the other hand, without being a keytar, it is difficult to find a keyboard that we can comfortably take anywhere, that offer freedom on stage and that hardly weighs. The Revo1 does not only meet these requirements but exceeds them, thanks to the support system that allows it to be hung on the body and its unique stand for when we want to play stationary.
Also, what can give more mobility than no cables? Exact. The Revo1 is wireless, it has built in a transmitter and a receiver that permits you to move around the stage or your study room as you want, without limiting yourself because of the annoying cables. And if that is not enough ... the sustain pedal is also wireless! And It is a high-quality pedal, that simulates the acoustic piano pedal.
However, for who does not want to use it “wirelessly”, has two more options: the first, connect it via MIDI cable to another autonomous keyboard, such as a workstation and the second option, to connect it with the USB cable PC or Mac computer.
Apart from the comforts of being curved and wireless, it also brings several advantages when it comes to setup.
It comes with a CD and the software is easy to install and works for both Mac and Windows.
Another peculiarity of the Nu-Motion Revo1 is that it can access libraries that you use with your usual program.
As for the batteries, you also have two options: The first is with built in rechargeable batteries that you recharge by plugging it to your computer or with a standard 5 volt wall adapter and the second is with conventional batteries. As for its autonomy, simply say that it lasts operative neither more nor less than 12 hours.
As for its features, it has a split and Layer function, sequencer, the motion button (trigger effect), a (+-) 12 semitone transpose, individual and independent control knobs, LCD screen, keypad to recall your favorite sounds/patch, pitch wheel, modulation slide and much more.
