Composer, Keyboardist and multi-instrumentaliste \/ Goblin<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Claudio (born 19 February 1952, S\u00e3o Paulo<\/a>) is a Brazilian<\/a>-born Italian<\/a> musician<\/a> and film composer<\/a>. The keyboardist<\/a> of the progressive rock<\/a> band Goblin<\/a>, Simonetti has specialized in the scores for Italian and American horror films<\/a> since the 1970s.  A long-time collaborator of director Dario Argento, Claudio has worked on several of the director\/producer’s films including Deep Red<\/a>, Suspiria, Dawn of the Dead<\/a>, Tenebrae<\/a>, Phenomena<\/a>, Demoni, and Opera<\/a>. His work has long been an iconic staple of Italian genre cinema<\/a>, collaborating with directors like Ruggero Deodato<\/a>, Umberto Lenzi<\/a>, Lucio Fulci<\/a>, Enzo G. Castellari<\/a>, Lamberto Bava<\/a>, and Sergio Martino<\/a>. His highly experimental scores are known for their signature, electronic<\/a> and progressive rock-influenced sound, and have been imitated numerous times. He studied at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia<\/a> in Rome.<\/p>\n

In 1999, Claudio formed the heavy metal band Daemonia, which has recorded updated versions of Goblin favorites in addition to original material. In 2009, Claudio collaborated with the Los Angeles heavy metal band Rusty Eye<\/a>. He played keyboard on “Mondo Cane” and “Wings of the Demon” from the album Possessor. On 16 October 2010,<\/p>\n

In 2010, Claudio reunited with his former Goblin bandmates Massimo Moranti and Maurizio Guarani along with his group Daemonia’s rhythm section to form New Goblin. They played several concerts around the world. This lasted until the fall of 2013 when he left New Goblin along with Daemonia’s rhythm section to reform Daemonia under the new banner Simonetti’s Goblin.<\/p>\n
